Foreign Minister Pentus-Rosimannus to discuss security in Europe at meeting with NATO colleagues in Turkey


Tomorrow and the following day, on May 13 and 14, Foreign Minister Keit Pentus-Rosimannus will participate in a meeting of NATO Foreign Ministers in Antalya.

On the agenda are North Atlantic Council (NAC) meetings between the allies, as well as with contributors and partners of the NATO-led training  and Resolute Support Mission (RSM) in Afghanistan and the NATO-Ukraine Commission (NUC).

The NATO Foreign Ministers will discuss an important issue for Estonia, namely preparations and expectations for the NATO summit in Warsaw next summer. This will include discussions regarding relations between NATO and Russia and promoting the Alliance's cooperation with the European Union.

At the meeting, the foreign ministers will also discuss threats to Europe's security and to NATO from both the east and the south. They will also discuss matters related to Iraq, Syria, ISIL and Libya.

Focus continues to be on the situation in Ukraine and support for Afghanistan, including NATO-Afghan cooperation after the end of the training and Resolute Support Mission.

In addition, the Foreign Minister has many bilateral meetings planned.
