Foreign Minister Keit Pentus-Rosimannus will make an official visit to Georgia


Tomorrow, on December 19, Foreign Minister Keit Pentus-Rosimannus will be on an official visit to Tbilisi to discuss the state’s integration with the European Union and NATO and the security situation in the areas surrounding Georgia and Europe at large with Georgian leaders.

According to Foreign Minister Keit Pentus-Rosimannus, Estonia and Georgia's cooperation is aimed at Georgia's increasingly closer integration with Europe. “Georgia has already implemented significant reforms on its road towards the European Union and NATO,” Pentus-Rosimannus said, encouraging Georgia to continue pursuing reforms. She added that Georgia is already a very important partner for the European Union and NATO.

Foreign Minister Pentus-Rosimannus will meet with the President of Georgia Giorgi Margvelashvili, Prime Minister Irakli Garibashvili, Foreign Minister Tamar Beruchašvili and Minister for European Integration David Bakradze. Topics to be discussed at the meetings include Estonian and Georgian bilateral relations and Estonia’s assistance in implementing the Association Agreement and regarding development issues.

Foreign Minister Pentus-Rosimannus will visit the administrative boundary line in Khurvaleti. The Foreign Minister will also visited kindergarten No. 171 in Tbilisi, which has been a partner with Estonia in the realisation of projects promoting traffic education and will place a wreath at the memorial for those who have lost their lives in the name of Georgian unity in Tbilisi.
